TELUPID: An elderly man was injured after an attack by his relative’s pet sun bear in Kampung Taviu, here, Friday.
It was understood that the bear escaped from its cage before running wild in the village.
Sabah Wildlife Director Augustine Tuuga said the Department is still awaiting the full incident report.
They will also summon the person who kept the bear illegally for further investigation.
The victim was sent to Telupid health clinic for treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
